With public transportation from Oslo
All trains between Oslo and Stockholm/Arvika/Karlstad (Sweden) call at Kongsvinger station. There are also local train lines from Oslo to Kongsvinger (Line L14). There are buses from the train station that can take you towards the museum, the closest stops are Kirketorget or Vardåsvegen.
By car from Oslo
- Follow E6 north to Kløfta (c. 25 km)
- Take a right, and follow E16 towards Kongsvinger (c. 65 km)
- In Kongsvinger, take a left in the third roundabout, and drive over Nybrua bridge.
- Go right and drive down the street Brugata until you reach the traffic lights.
- Go left up the street Storgata.
- When you get to the church, go left, and follow the street Jonas Liesgate until you reach the sign saying "Kvinnemuseet".
- Go left down the street Løkkegata (c. 300 m)
- You will find the Women's Museum on your left hand side.
By car from Hamar
- Follow E6 south until you reach the junction "Uthuskrysset" (c. 10 km)
- Take the exit marked "Gata/Nord-Odal/Skarnes" onto the road 24, and follow this road south-east until you reach Skarnes (c. 65 km)
- Go left onto E16 and follow this to Kongsvinger (c. 19 km)
- In Kongsvinger, go left in the third roundabout and cross Nybrua bridge.
- Go right and drive down the street Brugata until you reach the traffic lights.
- Go left and drive up the street Storgata.
- When you get to the church, go left, and follow the street Jonas Liesgate until you reach the sign saying "Kvinnemuseet".
- Go left down the street Løkkegata (c. 300 m)
- You will find the Women's Museum on your left hand side.
By car from Elverum
- Follow the road 2 (Rv2) south towards Kongsvinger (c. 100 km)
- Keep following this road as it changes from road 2 to E16.
- Go right in the first roundabout, and keep following E16 (c. 1 km)
- Go right in the next roundabout, and cross Nybrya bridge.
- Go right and drive down the street Brugata until you reach the traffic lights.
- Go left and drive up the street Storgata.
- When you get to the church, go left, and follow the street Jonas Liesgate until you reach the sigh saying "Kvinnemuseet".
- Go down the street Løkkegata (c. 300 m)
- You will find the Women's Museum on your left hand side.
