Visit us!

The Women's Museum of Norway is situated in the town of Kongsvinger, an hour and a half east of Oslo. The museum is located in the beautiful Swiss chalet style villa "Rolighed" constructed in 1857. Situated not far from the 17th century fortress and Øvrebyen, a protected part of the city characterized by its old wooden houses.

You can easily reach Kongsvinger by train from Oslo or Stockholm. We also have parking available outside the museum.

Opening hours in 2026:

Spring: Saturdays and Sundays from 12:00 to 16:00.

Summer season (June 6th til August 30th): Tuesday to Sunday from 11:00 to 17:00.

Fall season (September 5th to November 29th): Saturdays and Sundays from 12:00 to 16:00.

Admission

Adults: NOK 120

Young adults (18–25 years): NOK 100

Children (6–17 years): NOK 55

Children under 6: free entrance

School groups: FREE 

Groups that wish to visit the museum outside ordinary opening hours, must pay a minimum admission fee of NOK 2200 for groups up to 10 people. For larger groups, the price is NOK 220 per person. For visits after 16:00 and in weekends, there is an additional fee of NOK 1200.

Tickets from the Women's Museum also include admission to the exhibitions at Kongsvinger museum.
